The Working Group on Economic Issues (WGEI) on Tourism, a team of employees from RDÉE Canada and the Network’s twelve member organizations, is positioning itself as a leader in Francophone tourism development.
In Canada, Francophone tourism is a major lever for economic development and employability. This sector represents a significant portion of our economy and our jobs.
French-Language Services Classification, a trademark that belongs to the Network, provides a useful tool to the Canadian tourism industry. It allows visitors from Canada and abroad to see at a glance the types of services offered in French. This classification is also a structuring tool for our tourism businesses. It also provides added value for those who apply it, giving them an edge over the competition.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Integration of the French-Language Services Classification by Canadian Tourism Product Distributors
Launch of the Heritage, Cultural and Tourism Corridor: a Pillar for Tourism in Canada
Supported by Canadian Heritage, this project, which originated at the Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie in 2015, was created as a legacy for the Canadian Francophonie as part of the 150th anniversary of Confederation.
The Corridor brings together Francophone and Francophile entrepreneurs and all Canadian provinces and territories (Quebec is a partner) around a common goal: to contribute to the development of Canadian tourism in the country’s two languages. It definitely provides added value for tourism in Canada. Web presence.
Dissemination of the Tourism Impact Study
The objective of this study is to define Francophone tourism and to quantify its impact using secondary data. The results of the study justify the importance of developing an impact study based on primary sources.
